New rumor claims Office 2013 to launch January 29th

A few days ago, there were reports that Microsoft was going to make us wait until March 31st to launch Office 2013. Today, a new report suggests that Microsoft’s latest version of the office productivity suite will be made available to the general public in just a few weeks.

Specifically, ZDNet.com reports that, according to their sources, the launch date for Office 2013 is looking like it will be January 29th. The same report claims that Microsoft is holding training sessions for its partners in its Redmond, Washington headquarters for both Office 2013 and the new version of Office 365 the week of January 21st.

United States users will get the upgrades first, according to the report, and other territories will get the updates in the coming months, with all of them completed by November. If you still want to get Office 2010, be aware that Microsoft will stop downloads of that version via Office 365 on April 8, 2014. That also happens to be the same date that Microsoft will stop its official support of Windows XP.

The last week of January is looking like it will be a big one for Microsoft as the company looks like it will launch the Surface Pro tablet, with Windows 8 Pro, around the same time.
